Transportation to Ubon Ratchathani is very convenient by car, train and air.


By Car : You start by Highway Route 1 (Phahon Yothin Highway) and then Highway Route 2 (Friendship Highway). In Nakhorn Ratchasima, change for Highway Route 24 (Chok Chai-Det Udom) until the end of the highway. The total distance is around 630 Kilometres.

There are express trains and fast trains from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani every day. There are also ordinary trains from Nakhon Ratchasima to Ubon Ratchathani and Surin to Ubon Ratchathani. Detailed information can be obtained from telephone numbers 2237010, 2237020.


By Air : Thai Airways International Ltd. has a daily flight for passengers and air parcels from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani. General information about transportation in Thailand

A new International airport called Suvarnabhumi airport replaces Don Muang International airport. The construction started in 2002 and the opening of the new airport was scheduled on 29th september 2005 but has been delayed many times.  It opened on september 28th 2006.

Located about 25km east of Bangkok (Samut Prakarn province) there will be a fast connection with the city center both with a new highway and Mass Rapid Transport (skytrain in under construction now).
